How to Move an Aquarium

Are you worried about how to move your aquarium without risking damage? The Two Men And A Moving Van team provides professional moving services in Seattle and other cities in Washington State. Contact us right now. We are sure to be as helpful as possible.

Moving aquariums can only be empty.

The presence of water, rocks, or other solid decorative elements in the aquarium can cause the enclosure walls to crack while the car is moving.

Guidelines for safe aquarium transportation:

  • unplug the aquarium 1-2 hours before transportation;
  • remove fish and plants and place them in special containers or bags filled with water;
  • pack decorative elements stones separately, using bubble wrap, tape, and cardboard boxes;
  • completely drain the water, dry it, and securely pack the empty aquarium (the glass case can be protected with cardboard and special blankets and then wrapped with bubble wrap and stretch film).

Filters and other aquarium equipment should be packed in sturdy boxes. The aquarium’s body can be placed on a board and reattached, which will greatly facilitate its removal from the room, loading into a car, and transportation.

Moving a fish tank requires careful preparation and special care. Therefore, we recommend contacting professionals who will guarantee the safety of such delicate cargo during transportation.
